close to hiway is a both a plus and a minus. But the noise wasn't intolerable. Really missed the pool being closed. I wish there was more effort in that. Appreciated the free fire pit even when we brought our own wood. Bathrooms old, but usable and clean.

Staff is friendly and accommodating but bath house is very small and old. Hopefully new owners will be able to modernize the facilities.

This KAO needs some serious updating, also the pool is not in operation which was a serious problem.

The price is right and you can't beat the location for exploring downtown Butte. Campground is located next door to the Visitor Information/Chamber of Commerce. There's a bike/hike path right next to the campground. Easy on/off to the interstate. Friendly staff, always present, and eager to assist. For my first time staying in a KOA campground, Butte was an excellent introduction to the KOA family

Having a shower that I didn't have to pay was fantastic. Nice people. Nice setting. More shade trees would have been nice, but it's also in Butte where trees have a tough time. Freeway is nearby but with earplugs one can get a good nights sleep. Great place for bicyclers on their trips.

Wonderful management. The facilities are nice. We were not aware that the pool was not operational. The wireless did not cover our are at all. Thanks ~!

Interstate is too loud.

What a screw job. I tried to cancel a day early but they wanted 48 hours. They knew it was Festval week and they would have no problem booking the site! $35.00 for a no hookup tent site. They only reason I've stayed there for the last four years is because if it gets too hot at the festival we can use the pool. This year no water in the pool. Wifi sucks picnic table broken and loaded with ants.

I was very impressed by how clean the campground was - even during the extremely busy Folk Festival weekend. Good job!

The swimming pool was broken yet no one mentioned that when I made a reservation. I don't think full price should be charged if all amenities are not available. No shade in the tent campsites that were obviously overflow. Other sites were very nice and the campground is close to town. It was a good location to stay for the folk festival.

Paying $34 for a tent space is absolutely ridiculous. The showers are in serious need of maintenance, and the after-hours registration is questionable at best.

I wouldn't recommend this campground for tents. There is no privacy. I ended up sleeping crumpled up in my MINI Cooper because I didn't feel safe in a tent. The camper at the site directly behind me did not have a tent or a car which lead me to believe he was a transient? He watched me set up and knew I was alone. I wanted to switch to a cabin but the office was closed.

We usually have a pretty good experience with KOAs, but I cannot recommend the Butte KOA. The location is right off the highway and a busy road with truck traffic. The tent spots are crowded and have no privacy, and there are parking lot lights that stayed on all night. A terrible night's sleep and that was overpriced.

Tenting is very cosy only 2 foot from the next tent. Staff were friendly.

This was my 2nd time staying here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a cabin the first time and it was late Sept so cooler weather, when we got there they had a space heater going so the cabin was warm. The second time we rented a tent site and explained we were putting 3 tents on 1 site so they made sure we had a big enough site.

Our tent sight was nice and clean..under a tree...and close to the bathrooms. Enjoyed the hot showers and friendly service!

I spent 1 night at this campground while on a M/C trip. The campground was clean and well maintained. The tent site was close to a main road so traffic noise was a problem at night; not sure of a remedy. The washrooms were clean and well maintained; staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly service. I was disappointed that this spot didn't have a fire ring.

Always welcomed with smiles. Clean. Could use full size shower curtains in ladies room. Other wise a great place. Thank you.

Rude neighbors woke us at 1:30 am but KOA resolved the problem the next day and all was quiet. Thanks! Suggestions: Men's bathroom needs some maintenance. Light over single sink is out, shower curtains are toast and some stall door latches are broken. Also, a flip-down door stop on the entrance door would really help air out the bathroom on busy mornings without compromising privacy.

We've always stayed here to attend the Folk Festival. It's hard to beat the location and the chance to cool off in the pool when we want!
Jul 15, 2013
The staff was friendly and helpful. The tent spot we rented was very small, though, and the grass was very sparse. The KOA in Billings had MUCH better tent spots. The campers behind our spot showed up at 3am on Friday and talked loudly enough to wake up most of the other tent campers.

Need more trash barrels at tent sutes

Thank you for finding us a space, even tho we didn't have a reservation...also helpful to have water & sewer at the kiosk.
Jul 14, 2013
At 1:30 a.m in a quiet campground, the space next to us was checked out to a large group. Very loud and disrespectful. Not quiet at all as was supposed to be at 10
Jul 12, 2013
We had a nice shady tent site by the pool. The broasted chicken was awesome. The road noise and location was not.
Jul 11, 2013
This is one of the best KOA's we have stayed at. The people were super friendly, the grounds were clean, and the noise level was good. Need a place to stay in Butte, choose this KOA.
Jul 08, 2013
Good customer service, and clean facilities, but for tent camping this location is not the best. Sites are all extremely close together even for KOA standards, and they are just big enough for a 3-4 person tent and the picnic table. No fire pit, just a BBQ. Tent sites are also located closest to the road and road noise is heard throughout the night.
Jul 04, 2013
I was in a tent site, told it was shady with grass and it was shady in the am but baked all day and very little grass, mostly dirt.
