Dan and Terry Wiencek, the owners of the Butler/Mohican KOA Kampground, are avid campers themselves. "We love camping! We are both from large families and essentially all of our childhood vacations were spent in campgrounds across the USA. We wanted our children to experience the same, and they are all seasoned campers," says Terry. "Dan was looking for a business venture, and made the decision to combine his passion for camping and nature with owning a KOA franchise."

The Wiencek's passion for this business extends to the experience they want all of their customers to have. "Camping together as family and friends builds memories and bonds that are unbreakable, and our goal is to ensure that the customer experience at Butler/Mohican KOA creates the opportunity for the best memory ever!" says Terry. "Campers will find a variety of activities and events available to them and their families to meet all their needs. Everything from the weekend themes, crafts and activities, to the basics of clean restrooms and sparkling pool water, is designed to enhance their stay. Above all else, our staff is 100 percent committed to providing GREAT service for all."

"It was important for us to own a campground where we would enjoy camping ourselves. Butler/Mohican KOA is located in the beautiful Mohican area of central Ohio. Our campground is surrounded by trees and a lake that create a wonderful back-to-nature feel. The sites are spacious and varied, meeting the needs of many. Best of all are the themed weekends with fun activities and crafts designed for the whole family. The high point for many guests is the fire truck rides every weekend evening," says Terry.

Both Dan and Terry have full-time careers in the insurance industry in Columbus, Ohio. Dan is a project manager and Terry is a Human Resource leader. Prior to relocating to Ohio, they owned a catering business in Southern California. When they aren't working, they enjoy camping, traveling, photography, fix-it projects, and games.

Canoeing, Kayaking, Rafting - Loudonville on the Mohican River There are several liveries within minutes of the campground. You can make reservations at the office to avoid the lines. Float gently down the river and relax while enjoying the scenery, share time with family and friends, splash and swim, picnic on the shore - The Mohican River is Ohio's premier river destination.

Amish Country - Holmes County and Vicinity Although Ohio's Amish live the simple life, traveling the country roads by horse and buggy, visitors to Amish country can still see the sights from the comfort of their cars. Large, white-painted farmhouses are scattered across the green fields. Rows of handmade dresses and work pants hang to dry in the sun. Barefoot boys wearing suspenders stroll alongside the road. In nearby Berlin you can sample great Amish cooking, tour the many shops and enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Biking Trails The Kokosing Gap Trail is a 13.2 mile paved trail from Mt. Vernon to Danville. This shady trail runs along the Kokosing River and through a wooded ravine, wetlands and scenic farmland.

Richland B. & O. Trail - An 18.3 mile paved trail from Butler to Mansfield that runs through picturesque farmland and crosses the Clear Fork Mohican river five times.
