I arrived the day before the day before for my extended 4th of July stay, Mother Nature had just thoroughly given the park a wash down. I was escorted to my site, I had a water front location at no extra charge. The tent area picnic tables were still being washed as they were under water. All was good the next morning things were normal. Great stay great park and staff. Bob

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks Bob, words like yours are why we do it!

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. Our only issues were with the cable and wifi which worked sporadically. However, the staff was friendly and helpful and facilities well kept. Good job, Buckeye Lake KOA!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I hope you asked our staff for help with the cable, usually we can help straighten it out. The WIFI depends on the # of people on the system and is mostly for e-mails.

Clean and comfortable KOA. The staff was one of the best I have encountered in over 25 years of camping.

Please let campers with children know the miniature golf is not free but there is a cost.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

All children 17 and under get 1 round of mini golf free, 15 minutes on our pedal carts and free jumping pillow.

They need to do something about the mosquitos. You couldn't seat outside without being eat up.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The health department checks the grounds every Monday and sprays every Thursday night.

Nice campground...friendly people..rules for golf cart driver does not make sense....A 20 year old licensed driver cannot drive a golf cart in the camp ground without a 21 year old in the passenger seat. That one confused me!

Nice level campsites which are easy to pull into and out of. We just stayed one night this visit on our way home, but have stayed here many times before. We will be back

The campground facitlites were ok - my biggest issue with this campground was being told that my 15 and 17 year old kids had to wear wrist bands around the campground. The other issue was being told that I would recieve this survey and they wanted me to give them a good rating. If you want a good rating have nice campground facitlites and treat people right, then you earn your good rating.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

As the owner, I use these bands for many things, from lost children to which children need a parent at the pool and for the free bike rentals and mini golf. In explaining about the survey, we only ask if you can't give us a 5/10 please talk to the owner or manager so we may try to fix the problem.

Stayed here once before in a horrendous rainstorm so wanted to see what it was like in better weather. Could not have been more pleased. Nice place, nice people.

Very welcoming. Given milk for the kids when there was none in the camp store! The place is very beautiful and full of activities for the kids. Very well kept and intelligently designed. One of the very best.
Jul 30, 2014
we were very disappointed that the pool was not open, and when we complained they seemed to not care at all

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

During your stay we had a Chlorine pump fail which caused too much chlorine to be added to the pool. We are sorry for the inconvenience. At the time, we weren't exactly sure what was going on and exactly when the pool could safely reopen. The pump was replaced and the pool is great now.

The campground is really nice, but it is overpriced when it comes to extra kids. We paid $77 for one night (Sunday night [no special weekend activities] and after the KOA 10% discount). Unfortunately, the jumping pillow wasn't open and the hot water was lacking in the showers.

Sites are small and you end up with your next sites sewer line about 2 foot away from your picnic table. Creek near by is satanic and is breading grounds for miskitoes.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Yes the row you were in does have the sewer close to the table, this is due to the angle of the sites. We skip a site between sites to eliminate this problem. On Weekends, when we are full, this would be impossible. The creek is checked weekly by the Health Dept and there are no mosquito larvae.

$70 for one night is way beyond an appropriate fee. We've been on the road for 6 months and this was the most we ever paid. Tim Adams

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

This site was one of our Deluxe Patio sites. We have sites that would be suitable for your motorhome w/tow for $15 less per night. We always ask if you would like to try one, but there is always a lesser priced site available. There is also a $3 reservation discount.

What a wonderful park, plenty of events for the kids to enjoy. I would stay there again.
Jul 28, 2014
Loved the owners and the staff was so nice. There were a lot of activities, but the only reason I didn't give a 5 was because of the mosquitoes, they were horrible and you couldn't spend to much time sitting outside before you were covered with them. The stream going through the campground was stagnate and was a breeding ground for them.

We were placed in a site that "shared" space with the other campsite. Fortunately (for them) they arrived first and pretty much took over the limited space. Very unlikely we will stay here again due to the size of the sites.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have a row of "Buddy" for those campers that would like to camp facing their friends. We try our best to only have someone you know facing you, as the park fills up sometimes we have to use these or a site without sewer.

My children had a wonderful time during Super Soaker weekend and the KOA staff was very nice!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We love Super Soaker Weekend too!!

The mosquitoes were really bad and the defogging didn't help. The problem was the stagnate water. Also with a daughter in a wheel chair paved roads would have been nice. Also sites were really small. Enjoyed the game room and shuffleboard and bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our County Health Department checks the creek and the entire campground weekly and has never found the creek area to be a problem. They also spray each Thursday night unless it is raining. We do everything they suggest to lessen the threat of the Mosquitoes.

Staff was kind and courteous - answered questions without hesitation. Many activities going on but we did not attend as just a one night stay while traveling. The only issue was pulling into site with 33 TT caused by a tree to close to sight. Not sure why we were put on a buddy site but awkward when other site was occupied picnic tables side by side
Jul 26, 2014
We enjoyed our stay at Buckeye Lake KOA very much. The staff were all so friendly & very informative whenever asking questions. Our site was great situated right across from the rest rooms/showers & the pool area was lovely and relaxing. The only negative was the mosquito population which they are very aware of..bring a screen house along. We extended our stay since they gave us 1 free nite :)
Jul 26, 2014
Great amenities, family friendly and really helpful staff. A wonderful place to bring the family. Sorry we couldn't stay longer
Jul 26, 2014
Had a good time. Everyone was very helpful. Mosquitos were bad. Need to spray. I think your rates are high and it makes it hard to stay longer.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you had trouble with our mosquitoes, we don't like them either. The Health Department sprays for them every Thursday, unless it is raining. Check our Hot Deals for some reduced rates and always make a reservation for a $3 discount.

Had a Great Stay Thanks to all of you
Jul 25, 2014
Staff was friendly & helpful. Grounds are well kept & bathrooms are clean. Only downside was tiny campsite we were given. Our picnic table was literally up against our neighbor's rig. Having a campfire meant wedging our chairs in a small spot between the trailer and picnic table. Plenty of nice sites; just luck of the draw we got a small one.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Anytime you are not happy with your site we will do our best to select a more appropriate site.

You need to install PurpleMartin houses, the mosquitos were terrible.

Nice looking campground but a couple of major issues. The creek was a mosquito infested swamp, the extra money to not be in a buddy site was worthless, the sites were the same, and the showers were gross. They did have two fenced in pet areas which was nice, we just couldn't be outside because of the mosquitos. About 20 bites by the time we left.

Had a great stay. We loved the campground. Only issue we had was our first spot. After the placed us we found that we had a 40 foot run for sewage hook and in another direction our water hook up was 45 foot away. Had to ask to move spot which they did. Hook ups should be in one spot.
