Even though this is right off the highway – I like staying here because the pool is clean, the water is cool, the store/office has just about anything you could ever want or need and the park is very well-kept. The bathrooms and showers are also very clean and the staff are very nice as well.

Stayed 5 nights had a great time. Very friendly staff, nice size sites, nice walks in the desert. Also received outstanding rv tech / maintenance support from The Weekend Hero Mobile RV Repair team!!!

The little cabin was the perfect home for the night with the temperatures over 100 degrees. The only issues were that it could have used a bit more cleaning before I arrived (it was a little dusty) and the water pressure was quite poor (not enough to get the water to move up to the shower head). But I was VERY happy to have a cool place to lay my head for the night.

Nice campground, however, we would not stay again. The reason being that there are Oleanders (poisonous bushes) all around the entire campground, including each and every camping spot. Not safe for our children or our pets.

Il campeggio è piccolo ma ben fornito, bella la piscina, bella la lavanderia, la maggior parte delle piazzole sono ombreggiate, ma a noi ne hanno data una delle poche al sole. Trascorrendo solo una notte di passaggio nn abbiamo chiesto il cambio. Valore aggiunto il campo da basjket

The campground was a good last stay on our way back to Las Vegas. It was pretty expensive, though, for not much service. The toilets are old, the camping spots (tent only) do not have much shade (especially in the morning). There is the possibility for late check-in, though. All in all, we have booked similar campgrounds in California for much less money (10-40$ per night).

When traveling between the west coast and Las Vegas and New Mexico, the Barstow/Calico KOA is always our preferred point to rest.

We were amazed at the thought put into this KOA. In the desert, yet each site has been surrounded by beautiful trees like a canopy. Even the trash bins are in attractive enclosures and the doggie bags with disposal are located nearby all sites. The camp store is well stocked and big variety of necessities and gifts. We only stayed one night passing through but would definitely stay there again. A+

They were able to add two additional nights due to the hurricane we got in San Diego. We did have a problem day of check out. When my husband started emptying our tanks the fixture was damaged and dumped black water. The unit was clogged and would drain, so we had to cap off full hoses and transport to the dump station to empty. Cleanup the area and add bleach to disinfect the space .

Stayed in Barstow Calico during Hurricane Hilary and survived! Staff was attentive and accommodating. We experienced a slow sewer connection, probably due to the heavy rainfall. Power was on and off again several times. But all in all, a shelter in the Storm, and after all isn't life about learning to dance in the rain?

Everything was Great! from Check in to Check out. We will definitely make this our stop over when we head that way again. # rows of very mature shade trees are a +. Definitely improved grounds & facilities from our stay5 or 6 years ago! Thanks!

Layover on our way to San Diego and back home, due to Hurricane Hilary Barstow KOA was able to extend our stop over going home from 1 day to 3. We Left San Diego because of flood warnings and can't go home due to flash flooding. These folks are awesome.

The plumbing was old and leaking at the site. Lack of lights in the restrooms, and paper rolls were missing, showers looked dark. But enough space. Poisonous plants on site.

We stay here one night on our way to SoCal to break up the long drive. This last time (08/08/23) we noticed a different look to the KOA - bushes have been trimmed, colorful benches at the sites installed, new plants between the sites, newer site signs, etc. It is nice to see money be put back into the KOA. WELL DONE !!!!!

Nice clean sites with options for Full hookup or just water and electricity. That works best for my needs. Instructions to the site from the west on CA58 are confusing. Exit number off of N15 would be helpful.

Drove all day from Idaho and was relieved to reach the KOA. RV space was reserved and easy to access. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Full power (50amp) and water. Restrooms were very nice and so were the showers. Good internet access. I have a 5th wheel and just stayed over night. I would recommend this RV campground. 8/15/23

The check in person, Penny, was very friendly and professional. The facility was very poorly maintained and unattractive. The bushes were, dead, dying, or wilting. The picnic tables were rough and unpainted. There were signs someone had once tried upgrading the place, but have since moved on or lost interest. This place needs help!

This KOA seems like a one night stand kind of KOA for travelers. In one night and out the next. Staff was very absent and not very friendly or helpful. Don’t plan on returning and so glad we had the discount and points so we didn’t pay full price or I would have been very disappointed.

Everything went fine until the water was shut off for sprinkler maintenance and we could not finish dumping our tanks. We had a late start on our trip home.

We were greeted by a lovely lady who was kind, courteous, polite, and efficient. However, if it weren't for the location (a less stressful 2-hours from home), we wouldn't stay here. This KOA is in desperate need of some TLC. They are blessed with many mature trees (the shade is very welcome in the desert heat!), but the oleanders are mostly dead now and the grounds are generally unkempt.

The campground was very well kept and clean. Extra amenities that you don’t usually see. The pancake breakfast on departure day was a bonus!

The campground is neat, there are a lot of amenities. The shop offers all necessary things you need. It is calm, the view is great when you open the RV door.

So helpful in every way. I needed a referral to a dr while there, I got THE BEST dr. The staff drove me to my appointments while on her days off. They gave me a late check out when the Dr appointment was longer than expected. I was travelling solo and would have been in dire straits. Just the most amazing staff.

Large pull in sites. Clean and quiet park. Close to Calico Ghost Town and off road 4x4 park. Easy on and off the Freeway. Motorhomes can be re-fueled just up the road.
