Campground Reviews

Aug 13, 2014
Our family had a wonderful time. The kids loved the pool and getting to each have a top bunk in our one-room cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy, and the bunks were surprisingly comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the pool, and the free pancakes in the mornings were a nice touch. We will definitely stay at a KOA again.

We had a great time there with our 3 grandsons!
Aug 13, 2014
This is an absolutely beautiful KoA. Staff is outstanding!
Aug 13, 2014
The dust was terrible. Could use a water truck once in a while. The speed limit needed to be enforced. All in all a nice stay.
Aug 13, 2014
We love this KOA. We visit at least three times a year.
Aug 13, 2014
absolutely loved the place - 6 stay in 8 years. Only issue is all the new build Kabins (not really camping!) that have extremely noisy aircon units!Washroom cleaning worst since we starting staying there - new ownership cutting cost?

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Absolutely not cutting cost, so sorry for the restrooms. We want you to enjoy your stay and restrooms get heavy use. The AC units - I will look into. Thanks for the comment. Dale

Our say was pretty good here! So much to do for the kids and they have activities all thew out the day. Everything did cost $$ to do for the kids. Pool was very cold, even for my husband. Beach at Fort Stevens park was amazing! Only down fall about this place is that the locals around town were weird and the campers at the park weren't friendly!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry for your dissatisfaction. We do charge for activities like Stuff a Bear, Tie Dye, and Wish Pearls where you're receiving items in crafts that are available in our store. All other activities are included in your stay at no additional charge. Great question. Dale

We encountered unfriendly staff except for the young man Glenn who cooked pancakes. I was charged an additional $40 in fees for 2 nights due to having an 11 year old and 14 year old and then resort fees. The campground itself is called a resort but is in dire need of some upkeep. I have stayed at a number of Koa's across the US and Canada and this has been the worse one.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry we failed you, we can do better. We are constantly upgrading. We are at the end of the summer season and yes we have wear from high use. If you choose to return you will be able to enjoy a new pool and 5 new attractions. Dale

The campground was crowded and dusty. To many kids running across my campsite. The campground really caters to kids. I like kids, but, really, this koa seems to be trying to be a disney type place.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry about the dust! It's been hot and dry and its real hard to run the sprinklers with all the customers.
Aug 13, 2014
Although personel very nice in office; the gate guards were rude and demanding. Grass was dirty, dry and falling apart. The golf and attractions were unkept. Expensive for the condition.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry about the dust! It's been hot and dry and it's real hard to run the sprinklers with all the customers. The golf will be replaced next year with a new pool and it's well worn, sorry.

You need a dedicated cash register with a dedicated employee for the gift shop/store purchases only. Standing in line for over 14 minutes with a mwlring bag of ice is unacceptable. So was the aupwrvisors comment when I mentioned it.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You're right. We are going to add another register next year for just that.

Great place to stay but has become too expensive. Will be looking for alternatives.

Great place.

Nice park - will come back
Aug 12, 2014
The cabins were wonderful, the staff was great and the amenities were fabulous for our kiddos. However, my husband is in a wheelchair and it was horrible having to get him across and down the gravel road to the bathrooms. The handicap shower was being used by people (non-handicap) most of the time and then was broken for our final two days. Overall, it was not handicap friendly.
Aug 12, 2014
Good campsite clean bathrooms. I was initially out into a campsite that was meant for motor coaches and I asked to be moved, staff was very helpful and moved us to a perfect site. Some negatives were that the Pool was always very busy and the wifi was very very slow if you could even get connected to it. We thought it would get better after the weekend when everyone left but it didn't.

We stayed at a rustic campsite and it was amazing. The young night crew gentlemen with the full beard... If that helps any... Was awesome! He helped us out a lot!
Aug 12, 2014
We had a great stay. The only problem we had was that the cars/trucks that drive through the camping area in the upper loops go way to fast! Hope you can fix that problem so the little ones out riding there bikes and scooters will be safe.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are looking into speed bumps. It's real hard to instill speed standards and campground etiquette these days? Sorry, Dale

Had a wonderful time... Everyone on the staff are so friendly and there to help! Many activities for all ages... Will be coming back again for sure!
Aug 11, 2014
We had our family reunion, and there was a lot for kids to do which was great. I did not take part in the luau or ice cream feed. My family did say the luau was a let down, and the ice cream feed was supposed to be at 4, but when they got there at 4, there was nothing left. These are the only complaints. Camp staff was friendly and courteous, and the place was clean, and well kept.

i liked that our cabin was secluded. i cannot believe how crowded it is in the general camping area. i may return in the winter time but not again in the summer. my kids loved all the events and the staff were all very nice.
Aug 11, 2014
Wonderful staff, amenaties, and activities for kids. We were blown away by this KOA. This was the best value we've ever seen with large campsite, indoor pool, free mini golf and jumping pillow, and free pancake breakfast. We will definitely stay here again!
Aug 11, 2014
The campsite was very small and hard to back into due to the fence across the road. There was no room to park our truck in front of the trailer so it was in front of our site, leaving no room for a second vehicle. Most of the roads are gravel which lead to a ton of dirt and dust. Would rather pay less for a paved state park with less activities for kids.
Aug 11, 2014
How can you not live this KOA and all the staff, they are all professional, super kind and go out of there way to help you and make it a great family experience! We brought our Cub Svout Pack pit and everyone had a Wonderful family. The only regret was they changed their pancakes.. Smaller & not as yummy as they use to be but everything else was wonderful! Thank you from Pack 622 in Hillsboro, Or.

Been coming for years. Love it. Free breakfast should include coffee. A breakfast isn't breakfast without a drink. Stayed in fancy cabin. Please work on wifi and cell service.

grandma "done with primitive camping" stepped up to upscale camping...KOA Fort Stevens... activities galore, hot showers, clean, and what every grandparent wants---history lesson without the kids realizing (flashlight hide & seek at Battery Russell, Lewis and Clark's Fort, science at the tidepools low tide @ the jetty, and security so tight, kids can bike/roam/make friends alone...no boredom!!!
Aug 11, 2014
Loved it! Very well organized and well managed.
Aug 11, 2014
Nice campgrounds, well maintained, quiet, ample room for RV rig and car. Nice place for kids with many things for them to do.

When I booked this site, the website documented a nightly rate and a resort fee for a campsite "up to 6 people". It provided a final amount due and deposit. I was fine with that. It wasn't until we were loaded and arrived on site that I was charged an additional $22 for my kids and $4.00 for my dog. This information should be released at booking. I would have never paid $80/night for a campsite.
Aug 11, 2014
We had a great time except for the campers that were across the way with their 6 kids under about 7 years old. They sent them out at 5:30 am on their bikes, no parents tho. The kids screamed and yelled for three hours. They woke everyone up. Parents came out of their camper at about 8:30. It's pretty close to other people, that's the only bad thing.

Rented a cabin and an rv spot. Our stay with you was fun filled, relaxing, enjoyable, and you provided so many activities that we needed additional stay days just to get through them all. Also the staff was friendly and ready to solve any problems they encountered. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Aug 11, 2014
So much fun! Like summer camp for the whole family. The girls in the activities building were especially awesome, kind, helpful, and great with the kiddos(Amber was one of them).
Aug 11, 2014
It was most delightful. We liked all the activities for the children. We liked the trash being picked up at our site. We liked the extremely friendly and helpful staff and last but not least we loved the beauty of the campground.
Aug 11, 2014
kids loved it - the pool, the playground, the pancakes, the jumping pillow, mini-golf, bike rentals... i'd like to see more tenting myself...
Aug 11, 2014
I was disappointed in this CG. The era of young families w/ small children in tents is long gone. For the price I paid, your sites are too small for slide-out RVs, too close together, and only dead grass for kids tents. Area was too dusty and you allowed 2 to 3 trucks per site due to no extra vehicle parking, KOA wont be my first choice for travel in the future.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry our CG was built over 40 years ago when most RV's were smaller. We have many large sites in area 3 where satellite works great. During this time of year, it's hard to keep the grass happy and wet while there are so many great customers enjoying our facility. Dale
Aug 11, 2014
We stayed in camping spot K33 and felt like we were forgotten people. The washroom supplies were often unstocked and there were never any notices up about activities for our whole stay. We had to beg at the check in desk to get a photocopy. The camp was geared to only younger kids under 12 years old. I would also question your policy about accepting aggressive dogs. We saw some pitbulls crossbreed

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

That is a site off the beaten path. We encourage customers to download the schedule on their phones and we post in the fun finders to reduce our carbon foot print. We are adding more activities next year for the older kids, so keep in touch. Dale
Aug 11, 2014
Our stay was great with one exception. Our Tent site was more than 1/10th of a mile from the nearest restroom. (462 steps) that is a lot when you are my age and need to use the potty in the night. At least put a portapot nearer to the other end of J unit.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Your site was 300 ft from the restrooms. Yup, a long way to go. The KOA max standard. Sorry
Aug 11, 2014
Your new cabin was nice, a very unlevel but nice. We left a quilt in the room under the pillows ... if it finds its way home it will be fantastic!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I will check that level? We didn't find the quilt, sorry. Dale
