Campground Reviews

Not exactly a quality outdoor experience with 4 guys at the entry and packed camping conditions. Was chalking it up to a busy weekend until the KOA stanchioned Latin disco music started blaring at 10:00 am. Kids liked a pool but we were hoping it was outdoor. Showers were nice. Price was high and similar to a hotel cost which is where I'll likely stay next time.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry the Latin Disco was Zumba and we were celebrating Spain as a theme. If you choose to return we are installing an outdoor pool next year. Dale

we were right by the basketball court they were playing basketball team 2 or 3 in the morning.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are planning to fence in the "FUN ZONE" next year to prevent late night scrimmages. Dale

Wonderful facility and helpful, friendly workers. So much for kids to do! We were with 4 family groups and it was a perfect venue. Loved our first stay at a KOA.

Had a wonderful time as always!

Our family met several other families and had a great weekend. There are so many activities for families to enjoy at this KOA. My only comment is that a few activities, such as the miniature golf, are a bit run down.

We like your campground, stay there whenever we are in town. It would be nice if the wi-fi worked however.
Aug 04, 2014
Everything was great. Good maintenance of park. Need to improve WiFi reception or performance. Unable to connect or process anything thru WiFi.

This is a wonderful place if you have kids. Keeps them super busy with lots of activities available.

We had a lovely stay. The bathrooms were very clean and all the employees very helpful and nice. We are tent campers and usually stay at Fort Stevens. It was full so it was wonderful we were able to stay with you. Thanks!

Great campground and super staff. Most of the campground is very windy due to being next to ocean. Very few campsites are protected from the wind. Free pancakes every morning, what a great touch. I cannot understand how they promote family camping and then charge you additionally for each kid for each night. The nightly rate is for only two adults. So, are the pancakes really free? Greg

The loop we were in had a LOT of traffic at all hours of the night. Thought about staying in the new cabins on next trip.. But $165 a night.. Wow.

This KOA is by far the most organized and friendly RV camp we have ever stayed in. The staff here is wonderful! Our truck broke down and we had to extend our visit twice and they made the experience much less painful. THANK YOU for making our vacation a more pleasant experience! We will definitely return!

Really awesome place to stay, had a great time. The kids very much enjoyed all the activities. Can't wait to go back!

This was our first time at a KOA. The Astoria location came highly recommended. We have 4 kids ages 17-13 - 8 - 5 and we all had a great time. Will be back next summer for sure with friends/family.

Friendly staff and an awesome crew. Very cleanly park setting. It was a very busy park and the only items I would recommend is to control the speeding in the park and the obnoxious blaring stereos.
Aug 04, 2014
We had a good time. We did have some cabin reservation issues that were never actually resolved but the owner of this KOA did get involved at the very end and was very nice. We just wish we had been able to talk with him on the first day as it may have solved our issue early on. But I would stay here again.

Glad I could help. Dale

Other campers REPEATEDLY kept walking through our spot, even when we were there. My husband and dog went on you NATURE TRAIL that lead out to the boonies and ended up on pacific road almost 3 miles away. Your lucky some kids didn't take your Trail by themselves and get lost. We won't be staying there ever again!!!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Campground Etiquette has been a challenge to instill. The nature trail is 3 miles long with only two legs that only lead back to the KOA. Sorry, Dale

Check in was not helpful. I had to ask lots of questions to find out about amenities. The info wasn't freely given. Firewood was not delivered, even after a phone call. Had to go in person to the office to ask the next morning and then I was told that info given to me at check in was wrong about how much wood I should have received. Cot was broken in cabin.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

So sorry we failed you! We can do better. Dale

Filthy bathrooms and camping on top of each other in a parking lot with no trees and dead grass. Way over priced for the quality of the campsites.

Sorry we failed you. Dale

Excellent in most respects. Only negitive was people's disregard for speed limits in the campground. My comcern was for young children running and riding bikes and being hit when darting fr behind parked vehicles.

Great campground. Lots to do for kids, fairly clean, staff was helpful and with great attitude. The sites are a bit too close to each other. Quite hours at 10 PM are non existent.

Great place! Nice and clean! Well maintained property. Staff was friendly and nice! Will put this on our list of places to camp for future trips!

Great campground. Fun amenities. The kids had a blast. We will be back!

Everything was great, our grandkids had a blast, this is there second trip, we love it because it has everything for them. Only neg comment would be the showers, could use a good update.
Aug 02, 2014
Great activities for families. Good location to Astoria & Seaside, Fort Clatsop. Great helpful staff, especially Jim. Only comment, we wish the showers were cleaned more often. They are heavily used. Group coordinator Carmen is great.
Aug 02, 2014
Wonderful site, though could definitely use more passage ways to the bathrooms and such.

best, most friendly KOA of all we've stayed at

Nice clean campground. Dont plan on sleeping in though. The KOA staff starts working about 7. Getting too expensive as well. You're now charged a "resort fee" of about $5-6 per guest per day on top of everything else they charge you for. Its a nice place just be aware that it'll cost ya.

I had some problems with my RV and Kathy and Dylan were most helpful. My wife and I were most grateful.

Love this campground and all the activities and proximity to the beautiful Oregon coast and towns nearby. So many things for children to do.
Aug 01, 2014
loved all the activities and the kids could not get enough of the bouncy pillow

THe staff were great, friendly, terrific with the children I brought along; (I have stayed there numeroustimes, but I brought children this time.) You Were a Hit and I bet they'll come again with me. Thanks for making this a very enjoyable time!

Only negative is no garbage cans, have to leave garbage out by campsite, had Seagull into my garbage, had to pick it up .
Aug 01, 2014
We stayed in KOA Astoria with our family in July 2014. One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. They have wide sites which are very clean and modern. The pool is great as well as the jumping pillow and mini golf, lots to do for the kiddies. Also they have a KOA representative that waits at the front road by the office to assist all the campers coming in. Free pancakes everyday!
Aug 01, 2014
So much fun for the whole family. My daughter's favorite things were the bounce pillow and park activities. We played basketball, volleyball, and life sized chess. I loved that there was fresh brewed coffee every morning in Iredale's as well as free pancakes to go with our campfire meal. My dog enjoyed her escape to the good sized dog park. The staff was friendly and the park was kept clean.
