Sites were Misty void of all gravel which meant the sites were mostly mud/dirt and extremely uneven.

Grounds and office buildings were clean and neat, including restrooms. Did not utilize showers but they appeared to be clean ad well-kept also. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only negative was due to close proximity to I-40 there was a significant amount of road noise.

Loved our stay...location was great & not as much road noise as expected. Our site was a bit un-level but we made it work.

The staff were super nice. The wifi was excellent! The pool and office/store were very nice and well-kept. It's sad that this KOA is so close to I-40 because the traffic is noisy. We use a white sound machine when we sleep so it was fine. We paid for a premium site (B41) and the site was nice. One aspect we noticed was the sewer inlet was directly beside the patio and we could smell the sewer.

This is the Cleanest KOA we've ever stayed at; I say that because the maintenance crew could be seen everywhere...cleaning the laundry area, cleaning and raking each site as soon as an RV pulled out, cleaning the cabins, cleaning restrooms!! Highly recommend and praise the folks here at Asheville West!

This is a great place to stay overnight and hit the road again. Close to the interstate, but not to much noise, very shaded. It looks like there may be a lot of interesting sites to see in the surrounding area if we were staying longer.

We used the Asheville West KOA as a basecamp for several hikes in the area. Our site was comfortable and secure, the facilities clean and convenient, the staff always friendly. A secure camp freed us up to enjoy what we came to the mountains for.

Wasn’t told that water was an issue until AFTER I had checked in and confirmed payment. Should have been told that before hand. And this KOA is just like every other KOA, overpriced for what it offers. I’ve stayed in much better campgrounds for much less money. Only reason I booked here was because it was in close proximity to where I had a race to attend. Will never go back, left a day e

I-40 noise is LOUD. Literally they offer earplugs it’s so bad. Deluxe patio site was very difficult to back our 30 foot camper into. Water pressure was the worst we’ve experienced at a KOA. WiFi never showed up on any of our devices. Sites seemed very close at the back part of the campground. We’d camp somewhere else if we returned to Asheville.

This was our second stay at Asheville West... the campground is clean and has a lot of great trails to explore. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Any question I had was answered and they even helped us back in our trailer :)

I liked the peaceful setting of the campground and the staff was wonderful. All facilities were very clean. There was a problem with their well when we stayed, but they trucked in water and kept everyone informed. There is a lot of highway noise, but they offer free earplugs. The highway noise is the only reason that I may not recommend it.

Communication between us and staff was excellent, love the text messages to stay informed. Place was clean and well maintained just like the last time we stayed. Had both daughters with us this time and they enjoyed the game room, they would end the night by doing puzzles that were available. Hoping to make it back out to the area later this fall and will be staying Asheville West KOA again!

The campground is cute and very well maintained. The bathhouse was clean and pretty modern. The laundry facility was just ok. Our site was shady and not as level as it looked on the pictures but all in all not too hard to level our camper. This campground easy to access from the expressway but the noise is terrible. Inside camper with AC on it wasn’t bad, but sitting at picnic table was a no go!

Great stay. Appreciated texting as way to communicate with us. Clean, well maintained campground. As long as our a/c was on it shut out highway noise. Nothing you can do about that. Once again "Great Stay".

I’m giving this KOA a 5 rating because it was clean and tidy and they were all without a doubt the friendliest and caring staff. They went over and above, they had an ice cream cart they came around with playing music. The kids there were having a blast. But I have to say again, it’s expensive, KOA’s in general are pricing out the senior citizens like myself and most other travels.

Nice campground, pool was clean and refreshing. Staff very responsive to our concerns about a huge hornets nest in a tree on our site. Hope they were able to remove it safely.

Very friendly and clean...dog park is really nice and larger than some. Yes it's off of i40 but they will offer ear plugs etc. But it really wasn't much of a problem for us...

A lot of raid noise, but they tell you that up front. The camp was clean, the staff hard working and friendly! The sites need to be leveled better, but we were able to level using our blocks in our class A. They only have one dog park, and it's over where most of the long terms are ans if you are in the pull through up top its a long walk. They have a nice pool and nice trail around the camp. I'm not sure I would agree with it being called a holiday ( lack of amenities) but a good journey for a 2 day stay.

I was a tad nervous about the noise reading the reviews, but we did not have any issues with the traffic noise. This is a great jump off point to Asheville and close to anything you would need. The facilities were really well kept and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
