27TH ANNUAL FIERY FOODS AND BARBEQUE SHOW
The National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show celebrates it's 27th this year. It is the largest and most visited show about spicy foods and barbecue in the world. Over 200 booths filled with more than 1,000 products related to chili peppers. Enjoy samples of spicy foods, plus find great books, clothing and decorator items.
RIO GRANDE ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL--SPRING SHOW
Creativity is in bloom at Albuquerques first major art event of the year, the Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival. Fine art is the focus of this festival, and the trend is to leave the show with something new for oneself or the house. This juried arts and crafts show is one of the largest in the state and features the work of more than 225 fine artists and craftsmen from all over the nation. See website for details and discounts.
SOUTHWEST CHOCOLATE AND COFFEE FEST
The Southwests largest gathering of chocolatiers, coffee roasters, tea houses, cake, donut and candy makers, wineries & more. There will be cooking demos, baking contests, chocolate eating contests and a barista latte art contest as well as live music. For kids there will be free games, bounce houses and face painting!
FIESTAS DE ALBUQUERQUE
Featuring food, live music, dance, activities and more from five major eras of Albuquerques history, this event will have something for everyone! As you walk through different areas of Historic Old Town you will be able to experience the awesome history of the Native American Era, learn about the founders from the Spanish Era, enjoy mouth watering delicacies and learn how to craft piñatas from the Mexican Era, and listen to live, historic music and see blacksmith demonstrations from the Territorial Era.
GATHERING OF NATIONS POW WOW
North America's largest pow wow and Native American competition featuring Indian singing and dancing with more than 3,000 participants, isles of shopping, and native foods and music. The event will be held at the UNM Arena and lasts all day and night Friday, April 25th and Saturday, April 26th.
The Miss Indian World Traditional Talent Presentation & Show will be held Thursday evening, April 24th at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The American Bus Association has designated the Gathering of Nations Native American Powwow as one of North America's 100 Best Events for 2014.
