Other than the noise from the highway this place was just fine. It was clean and well maintained.

the office staff was pleasant. the campsite itself was fine. but i was by myself in a tent and would not recommend that location for that scenario. i'm sure i would have been fine, but i was nervous and ended up sleeping in my car. the area of the outskirts of albuquerque there were a little rough and i did not feel comfortable in a tent far away from everyone else. the rvs were vacant...

Just stayed one night but our tent site was great with some cover to cook under. Very secure site and good facilities.

Bathrooms were great! However, location is not so great. There is a freeway wall directly to the back of the campground and an apartment across the street. There just so happened to be a drive by shooting at the apartments the night we stayed.

unfriendly, unpleasant, very noisy by I-40, tent site like a horsebox, to expensive

We reserved a tent site on a recent cross country motorcycle trip. While the staff was typically amazing, this KOA's location is in a sketchy neighborhood within the city of Albuquerque itself and had a real inner city gangbanger vibe about it. This place just seems to be in the wrong part of town. My girlfriend refused to stay there, so we paid for our tent site and did not use it.

Nice host and very helpful staff. Clean facilities and bath house.

If you are tenting, don't even consider this as your stop. Traffic, billboards, and paying $38 to pitch a tent is going to keep you awake.

Just wish it was not right next to the highway. Campgound and staff were great!

the pool and spa are the best parts of this. the general campgrounds for tents are totally exposed and right next to the fway. mind the gypsy-folk.

Good campground but the tent spots got extremely windy to the point where the tent was blowing down. Couldn't stake down because the ground was so hard

The grounds were immaculate and the staff was great! Wonderful bathrooms and shower facilities. The only downside was it is right next to I40 and that makes it really noisy at night but this wasn't an issue for us. The hot tub and pool were a nice surprise. Overall great place to stay!

I was disappointed that the restroom/shower house was not available next to where we camped..Besides that, everything was fine.

Very good experience for the price. We've stayed at other places for lower rates but the amenities made it well worth it.

It's an excellent place to camp. If I'm around that area I'll stop by again

My Tent and all of the gear in it was stolen.
Apr 30, 2014
There was not information on the website stating that the bathrooms located closest to our campsite were closed for the season. We also had all of our camping gear stolen on our last day there (camping stove, cooler, and bin full of other items), requiring a vehicle or 2 trips to cart it away in plain daylight and while staff are onsite. Though apologetic, the staff offered nothing for our loss

This was my first stay at a KOA as a club member. I couldn't be more happy or impressed with the facility. The staff member at the desk made me feel very welcome. If all the other KOA's I plan on staying at are like this it will be a great summer! Thanks for a great stay!

An RV-centric campground in the middle of a densely populated area. Light pollution, a closed bathroom, and a ton of goathead weeds made it a poor choice for tent camping.
Apr 19, 2014
Staff was excellent helping us determine the best site for our tent stay. Winds were a factor and the tent village made the stay very comfortable in windy conditions.

Très propre accueil très bien.Avec notre anglais moyen on a été très bien répondu

Clean bathrooms, shower, clean campsite, quiet-camping. Staff friendly and helpful.

Goathead thorns all over tent area.

thank you your kind and understanding

Someone was in our spot. We did not feel safe in this area. It seemed that security was needed if razor-wire was necessary around the campground.

This campground was terrifying. There were loitering people sleeping in a van near our campsite, yelling and walking around. We slept with our gun and did not have a peaceful experience. Also, the site said there was a free pancake breakfast. There were no pancakes.

Located very close to Hwy...litlle laudly, on the other hand difficult to find it, no visual signs.Women's restroom and it's trash cans weren't cleaned for 5 nights as I was there!!!Staff nice.

I struggled with the freeway noise, with the bright light from the sign by the tents, with the noise from the moose lodge people. I liked the gravel to put tents on and wished there was more than one gravel space per site, since we had three tents.
Oct 06, 2013
The staff was really nice. But if you plan on tent camping, stay away! The noise from the highway kept us up all night and the bright billboard directly over the camp site made it too bright to sleep.

2 negatives: a car was broken into inside this KOA location content stolen; tent areas are full of stickers that stick to your shoes, socks, tents & vehicle carpet. Add security cameras & an effort to control the weeds/sticker population needed. Other negative, not controllable by management, is the I-40 traffic noise all night.

This place is great. I had a tent space with electric, best KOA for me yet! I loved the way the shelters were made with table and electric built in. Great place and I would stay again!
Aug 24, 2013
Stayed in 'tent village.' Very close to the expressway and a bright billboard. Off season so there were no 'neighbors.' Had an issue with a stray dog and the manager didn't answer her phone. Did get help with a car jump start.

Pros: Very nice people, clean restroom/showers/campsite. Cons: VERY VERY close to freeway (right next to it!), extremely bright billboard glaring at us all night, apartments right across the street... too urban for my taste! Great site, awful location...
Aug 20, 2013
Very clean and easily reached. While it was next to the freeway it was fairly quiet.

The place was right next to highway and it was just too loud.

One of the many KOA's I stay at every year when I visit New Mexico. This is a busier KOA bring right in the heart of Albuquerque! Camping in a tent was not a problem being right next to the highway as I fell right to sleep each night. Wifi worked great and they have very clean bathrooms and showers.

It was a good stay, friendly staff.
